Job Title: Business Developer
Typically we are looking for someone in their late 20’s to early-30’s who comes from a sales background in a services industry. We are after breadth of exposure to the sales function, someone who has ‘worked their way around the various aspects of sales roles. We are after someone who can both ‘hunt’ new business but who is equally comfortable in the more subtle, relationship-art of ‘farming’ existing accounts to generate on-sales work.
A track record of successful solution selling experience to a predominantly corporate client base is important as the majority of our client contacts are corporate Human Resources and Learning and Development Managers.
Driving processes to generate leads, qualify them and progress your pipeline must really excite you. You will need to leverage our partner network and work with credible learning and development experts into the sales cycle to help with a needs analysis and solution design. Ultimately, you are accountable for the entire sales journey from qualification through to close and the driver of the process.
As we are a services industry, we do need someone who is used to selling solutions, who can deal with complexity and who is able to think conceptually and think solutions (we push solutions to client needs not products).
Reporting To: The role reports Vanessa Bluen, the owner and managing director of the business

Able to design and implement processes (good process thinker)

  • A Matric (or overseas equivalent) is essential along with a degree in any discipline.
  • Alternatively a relevant post-matric, certificate/diploma qualification within the sales or business development arena.
  • At least 6 to 8 years work experience; ideally with the majority of this in a sales function.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a sales record (3+ years) at a high level of achievement
  • Solutions-selling experience in a corporate client base
  • At least 3+ years experience selling for a services industry (sales experience within the learning and development / training industry is an added advantage)
  • Can you talk confidently to us on your track record of business development and client account growth?
  • Can you talk with authority on the world of solution selling?

Other: A driver’s license and access to own transport is essential.
Package: Package is negotiable per candidate relevant to experience and attributes and is commensurate with industry standards.
